Uchiko in Houston, Texas is a two-story, 5,530-square-foot tenant improvement project completed by Synergy Commercial Construction in partnership with Michael Hsu Office of Architecture. Built within a six-story shell building, the project involved the complete finish-out of a fine dining sushi restaurant featuring detailed craftsmanship, custom millwork, and carefully coordinated throughout the interior and exterior spaces.

The completed restaurant includes a covered outdoor dining patio, storefront glazing, custom wood and brick architectural elements, and an entrance area that connects the restaurant to the surrounding mixed-use development. The interior has private dining rooms, bar seating, lounge areas, custom booth seating, and intimate dining environments designed for everyday service and special events.

Many of the project’s defining features center around the extensive use of wood finishes, custom lighting installations, decorative partition walls, built-in seating, and detailed millwork. The private dining areas feature large communal tables, custom cabinetry, and ceiling artwork, while the bar incorporates illuminated shelving, integrated service stations, and specialty finish details.

Synergy Commercial Construction partners with clients across Texas, including DFW, Austin, Georgetown, Round Rock, Killeen, and Houston, to deliver retail, restaurant, industrial, and medical projects.
