City of Georgetown Light & Waterworks Plaza

Synergy Commercial Construction completed the new construction of the City of Georgetown Light & Waterworks Plaza, an 18,038-square-foot outdoor festival space in Georgetown, Texas. Working with Covey Planning + Landscape Architects, the project created a flexible public gathering area alongside the historic Light and Waterworks buildings.

The completed plaza includes a covered performance stage with a curved metal roof, an open festival lawn, a large metal pergola, paved pedestrian routes, landscaped planting beds, and multiple gathering areas. Wide concrete walkways connect the stage and lawn to surrounding streets, parking areas, and neighboring municipal buildings. Cylindrical metal features placed along the central walkway add visual interest and help define the route through the property.

This Georgetown commercial construction project required careful coordination of concrete work, structural metal elements, landscaping, lighting, pedestrian access, and drainage across an active downtown site. The improvements also needed to work with the property’s established brick buildings, mature trees, tall waterworks stack, and existing circulation patterns.
As the commercial general contractor, Synergy Commercial Construction worked to take the vision and build a beautiful and functional outdoor space that supports festivals, performances, public events, and everyday community use. The project is a great refelction of Synergy Commercial Construction’s experience completing public-space and commercial construction projects.
